CDF Housing Cooperative Ltd. was established following a resolution made by CDF Sacco Members during the Annual Delegates Meeting on November 5, 2013, which took place in Nairobi. The Housing Sacco was subsequently registered on February 7, 2014, under the Co-operative Societies Act, Cap. 490, Section 6(3), by the Commissioner for Co-operative Development. The society primarily consists of members who are employees of the NG-CDF Board. Its main objective is to provide living accommodations and livelihood opportunities to its members. The society focuses on identifying areas with fair and reasonable property prices, encompassing essential services like roads, drainage, water, and electricity. In cases of gated communities, society considers providing facilities for physical and cultural recreation, along with other customary aspects necessary for constructing estates, blocks of flats, or single-family homes. The central activity of society involves mobilising resources for investments that facilitate its members in acquiring properties such as land and housing at reasonable and affordable prices.
