Ollin SACCO Society Ltd. was registered on June 14, 1976. It had a membership of 163 at its inception, but the membership currently stands at over 27,000 active members.
The SACCO is located in Kerugoya town, Kirinyaga County, in central Kenya, which is approximately 120 km from the capital city of Nairobi, and has branches in Mwea, Kitengela, Kiserian, Kajiado town, Kimana-Loitoktok, Kianyaga, Narok, and Thika.
Membership is drawn from the following: primary school teachers, post-primary school teachers, secondary school teachers, the TSC secretariat (Teachers Service Commission), retired teachers, public officers in government ministries, SACCO employees (society employees), employees in private institutions, and the business community.
The SACCO was the first in Africa and in the Republic of Kenya to operate a front office (FOSA) in 1995.
