Mhandisi Housing Cooperative Society operates as an investment company, duly registered under the Co-operative Act, with its primary mission centered on conducting investment activities. Aligned with Kenya's Vision 2030, which acknowledges that only 23% or 35,000 housing units are annually provided out of the total demand for housing, with just 20% of this supply catering to low-income households, despite their being the majority in Kenya. The cooperative engages in a variety of business pursuits, including land transactions in different regions, real estate development, and investments in shares and foreign exchange.
Membership is open to Mhandisi Sacco members, their spouses, and children, as well as engineers of all categories, technicians, technologists, members of the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), and Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) members, along with employees in consulting and construction companies, including engineers residing in the diaspora.
