The society was registered on May 6, 1999, by the Registrar of Societies as Kitui Biashara SACCO C/S Number 8851. Later in the year 2013, it was rebranded to Bestrock SACCO through an approval by the Commissioner of Co-Operative 
The society currently boasts over 2000 active members and a fully fledged office block within the Winlo Complex, opposite the Travellers Hotel, 2nd Floor, Kilungya Street.
