Sauti SACCO is officially registered under the Cooperative Society Act (Registration No. 2103) and operates under the regulation of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) as a Non-Withdrawable Deposit Taking SACCO (NWDTS). Their journey began in 1972 when a group of individuals associated with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting established the SACCO. Over time, the common bond has expanded to embrace members from the private sector, reflecting commitment to inclusivity and growth.

The society has its headquarters situated in Nairobi South B along Kapiti Road, Kapiti Crescent and has 15 branches across the country.
